Day 6, 18th March , Wed, Ireland School Closures

Day 6.
Today I baked white soda bread and I have a broccoli pasta bake in the oven for later.

Homemade soda bread.

I downloaded a Pedometer app from the Play Store this morning to make me get 10000 steps every day, very important to have that as an aim every day.

I went out for my walk and bumped into neighbours, (at a safe social distance)  which is great as I haven't met some of these people in a long time, and two of them I used to see daily when my kids were going to primary school.

I am going for another walk now to get more steps, then I will bring in the laundry, re-pot a few plants, and maybe nip to the shop for wholemeal flour  and buttermilk for baking brown soda bread tomorrow.

It is a calm overcast day, still, but there is drying,  which is good for the washing. Spring is coming,  the buds are beginning to grow.

Buds and leaves on this hawthorn bush.

The news today: banks to offer a 3  month payment break; some major clothes stores have closed, including Penneys; and the airline Ryanair is talking about grounding all their fleet soon.
Good news; my friends who were in Lanzarote and Morocco are home, on Irish soil. Phew.
