Day 8:
We woke to a beautiful sunny morning, with bright
sunshine and blue skies; however, the wind was strong and it was chilly. It was
one of those March days, where it was Summer in the sun, but it was Winter in
the shade, or rather Summer behind glass, but Winter out in the open.
Nevertheless, up and out for a walk, and laundry was hung out.

Today is Spring Equinox, (Vårdagsjämning). Today the sun is above the horizon the same amount of time that it is below the horizon. And tomorrow, there will be a minute or two more sunlight in the morning and evening than there was today. Roll on summer, I say! Although this may turn out to be a summer like no other.
Other than my walks (those 10,000 steps aren't going to walk themselves) I didn't leave the house today. I guess I will have to go to the shop tomorrow or Sunday. I am hoping to only go shopping every 3 days or so. No harm at all for all of us to plan ahead and use what we have in the days in between shopping.
I am looking forward to reading about the statistics about the reduction in air pollution during this time. It is wonderful to hear that the fish have returned to the canals in Venice. I wonder if there will be other beneficial consequences for the Earth. I wonder if we will all just return to our 'normal' lifestyles when this is done, hopping into the car, jetting to our holiday destinations abroad and in general consuming and using and creating litter, waste and pollution. I fear that the changes will be short-lived.
There was a wonderful sunset this evening and I took a few photos.
Stay well, folks, stay at home.

I live in the Irish countryside. I love walking and looking at the sky overhead. I also love spinning! If you have any questions about spinning or any comments about my blog, just let me know by leaving a comment. Thanks.
